The Hummingbird
Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. Like a hummingbird, we aspire to hover and savor each moment as it passes, embrace all that life has to offer and to celebrate the joy of everyday. The hummingbird’s delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life’s sweetest creation.
Our Havanese remind us so much of the lovely little hummingbird, helping with my choice for calling our kennel, "Hummingbird Kennels".
My husband and I are retired and living in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island. We have owned and loved dogs all our lives and also have a 10 ½ year old, beautiful Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, "Duffy"+. I fell in love with the Havanese over 5 years ago and have spent that time doing research on the breed. We finally got our little boy, Desi. He is black and white, with lots of personality, so gentle and full of fun. Then we got our little girl, Chloe, she is cream in color, she also has a wonderful personality and is a charming little princess. Both dogs are CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and AKC (American Kennel Club) registered, parents and grandparents are International Champions. More recently, we have added to our Havanese family. We have 3 beautiful girls; Ingrid (from Finland), Breeze and Baleigh (from Hungary). The girls, along with Desi, have obtained their Canadian Championships and passed the CGN (Canadian Good Neighbor) testing through the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club). These 3 girls are now in our breeding program. Chloe has been spayed and living a very relaxed life as the "grandmother to everyone, especially the puppies"

We are saddened to inform you Duffy passed over the Rainbow Bridge in 2015. This lovely boy is missed so much by all of us. Remembering his love and fun playtimes with the Havanese puppies and adults will always bring a smile to our faces. Rest in Peace, our precious boy.
We are small one-breed breeders with our main concerns being on health and finding loving homes for our puppies. Our dogs live with us in the home and the puppies will all be home-raised. The puppies will have lots of socialization with both adults and children as well as with other dogs before leaving our home. We take pride in our puppies and will provide a health guarantee as well as information on grooming, training, feeding and we will be available for any assistance you may need. All puppies are examined by a vet and given a thorough health checkup, de-wormed, vaccinated and microchipped before leaving our home. Our puppies are CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) registered and can be AKC (American Kennel Club) registered. Our dogs have been CERF (Certified Eye Registration Foundation) tested, and hips vet-tested prior to breeding. As a member of the Havanese Fanciers of Canada, we follow all the recommended health testing and breeding practices prescribed by the Club.
Our dogs come from healthy backgrounds and International Championships.
I am a member of the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), the Havanese Fanciers of Canada, and am involved with showing my dogs, obedience and Rally-O.
